Review of the film super 8

 What I thought about the movie: I thought the movie was really good, entertaining, exciting, frightening and fun to watch, all the explosions and misery incidents in the film really where entertaining and good to watch. I believe the genre this film is for is for teenagers and the charters in the film where teenagers and there for appeals to teenagers, It was a science fiction movie about aliens and how they were destroying the city. It had some really good shots which freak out the person watching the film, the sound effects of the explosions where really good and sounded real which made the audience nearly scream.

The film had great shots such as close up and high angel shots showing as much as possible in the scene. The sound effects where good, and the story line was also really appealing. I saw everyone walking out the cinema really happy and amused as there was a happy ending to the film, which satisfied everyone that things were back to normal. The weather shown throughout the film was dull and depressing which got people in the mysterious mood that something was going to happen next in the movie. Got the audience in a serious mood, which then made the story line exciting for them to watch. And the fact that the boy’s mother past away in the beginning of the film showed how he felt and how his character was like. The film showed how the boy was UN liked by some because of his dad being a police officer, showed his conflict with his father for not being able to understand him etc. This really made the film interesting and stands out as it was based on his life.

What I really enjoyed about the movie was that it was science fiction which got me thinking that this could happen in real life, it was really entertaining with all the explosions. However at the same time the film was also funny with a few funny characters which made the audience laugh as well as make them feel anxious to find out what will happen next.

The trailer of the film was also really good and made the film look as good as it was to watch it, it left people to a cliff-hanger so that they go and watch the film. The colours used for the title of  the film were black and white showing the dull ness of the film.

As the film was based on a young boy’s life as well as aliens it taught people on how to move on in life, and deal with hard situations. The film sent a message as well as to entertain people which is why I enjoyed the film.

However after the film had finish not just me but people where talking to each other as they did get confused if the mother was taken by the aliens in the begging’s or on how she died as in the film they did not show this. This got people talking about the film.

The disadvantage of the film can be that the younger audience may not be allowed to watch this film due to the science fiction, and extreme explosions which can scare the young ones.
